It should be noted that, during the whole period of time, Sheikh Ahmad Qomi continued to conduct his trading enterprises and became an immensely wealthy man. He also acquired a sterlimg repatation of intergrity, honesty and loyalty to the Kings of Siam he served, while maintaining his own religion and nationality. Chao Phya Sheikh Ahmad Rattana Dhibodi, served with utmost fidelity six Kings of Siam from King Somdej Phra Chao Song Dhum right up to the reign of King Somdej Phra Chao Narai Maharaj (King Narai the Great) (1656 - 1688). Due to his outstanding efforts, achievements, and loyal devotion, he was finally rewarded, on this retirement, by the King Narai the Great, by being promoted Emeritus Minister of Civil Affairs with the title of Chao Phya Boworn Rajnayok. He passed away shortly thereafter at the
age of eighty - eight in 1659. His son Phya Apai Raja (Chuen) took over all the
active offices his father held. Sheikh Ahmad Qomi's bequeath to his descendants,
successors and followers was to serve the King and the Royal family with honesty,
loyalty and intergrity - and never to meddle, encourage or participate in the
plots and internal intriques of court life. This request became a commandment
which was faithfully adhered to throughout the generations that followed, this
in turn earned a universal respect for Sheikh Ahmad Qomi and his successors right
up to the present time.
